]The West Vancouver Marine Rescue Society – WVMRS was incorporated under the BC Societies Act in March 2012. The Society gained CRA charitable status in December 2012. Our CRA registered charity number is 82103 2687 RT0001.
The society supports the activities of Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station 1 – West Vancouver located at the Horseshoe Bay Pier and Fisherman’s Cove.
WVMRS owns two dedicated rescue vessels moored in Horseshoe Bay: a Type 2 Falkins Class – the “Craig Rea Spirit” and a Type 1 Fast Response Vessel. In addition to the rescue vessels, the society provides the crew equipment and resources to train and respond to marine emergencies.
Some funding is provided by the federal government to cover the costs of responding to missions. However to fully cover training costs and capital acquisitions, the society actively seeks financial support from the local community.
If you are interested in making a donation to West Vancouver Marine Rescue Society you can do so on our homepage or you may contact the Society President Scotty Grubb at firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information.
Tax receipts are issued for donations of $25.00 or more.
